How to find your first clients
Tradespeople do not search for an AI agent. They are on a job. You go to them. Three ways, with the rules for each.
Ads aimed at trades
Facebook and Instagram let you aim at people by job title and interest, in your area. One ad, one trade, one message: “Missed a call today? Here is what it cost.” Send the click to your demo link, so they hear it before you say anything. Keep ads honest: no income claims, no promises of results.
Lists and calling
Build a list of local trades from a licensed source, such as a maps provider’s business API or a bought directory. Do not scrape map sites; it breaks their terms. Before you call: in the US, check the National Do Not Call Registry and your state’s rules; in the UK, check both the Telephone Preference Service and the Corporate Telephone Preference Service. Dial by hand. Don’t use autodialers or recorded messages. Call during business hours, say who you are in the first sentence, and offer the demo link rather than a pitch.
Your demo link
Your demo is a public page under your brand. Text it, post it, put it in your email signature. A tradesperson who hears their own trade handled on the phone sells themselves.
The pitch in one line
“It answers your phone as your business, books the job, and texts the customer. $399 a month, less than one job.”
